Graduate Teaching Assistant Role at a North London Secondary School

Prospero Teaching is seeking graduates with a strong interest in education to join a secondary school in North London. We are looking for individuals who have excelled at GCSE and A-levels and hold a degree in a Business Studies-related field. Are you interested in working as a teaching assistant with potential future training to become a teacher?

We value academic excellence, strong communication skills, and a dedicated approach to supporting students' learning. If you meet these criteria and are eager to make a positive impact, we want to hear from you.

As a teaching assistant, you will work with 11–16-year-olds, providing continuity, positive role models, patience, and understanding.

Responsibilities of the Graduate Teaching Assistant:
  1. Supporting class teachers and students during lessons
  2. Building rapport with 5–6 students with specific needs and implementing strategies to support their learning and attainment
  3. Providing 1:1 tuition in your subject area
  4. Running intervention groups to enhance subject knowledge
Support Provided:
  • Training, guidance, and support from experienced consultants at Prospero and our Training and Development Team, as well as from the school
  • Free training and CPD sessions
School Support:
  • Resources and strategies to support learners
  • Behavior management training
  • Group and 1:1 training from qualified staff
Role Details:
  • Full-time hours, 8am–4pm, Monday to Friday
  • Running an after-school club once a week and attending a departmental meeting
  • Paid weekly at £90–£105 per day, with potential for permanent employment
