Step Into Teaching is supporting a secondary school in Banbury by appointing an English Graduate Teaching Assistant. You will support delivery of English lessons, assist small groups, and help students reach their full potential. The requirements for the post of an English academic are a 2:2 or above English Hons and the communicative ability to relay your English knowledge to an array of pupils from a wide variety of backgrounds.

The Opportunity:

• English Graduate Teaching Assistant
• Must hold a 2:2 or above Hons degree
• Monday to Friday - Full-Time
• Secondary School, Banbury, Oxfordshire
• £500 - £530 per week
• Ideally suited for aspiring teachers

The successful graduate must:

• A recent graduate with a degree in a science-related subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
• A passion for science and a desire to help students understand and enjoy the subject.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Previous , tutoring, or mentoring capacity, is desirable but not essential.
• A positive and proactive attitude, with a strong commitment to students’ learning and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the delivery of science lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students who need additional help with their science studies.
• Help prepare and set up science resources and equipment for practical lessons.
• Monitor and track students’ progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
• Support students during practical experiments, ensuring they follow safety protocols.
• Assist with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Help with the marking of student work and providing constructive feedback where necessary.
• Contribute to the development of lesson plans and teaching resources.
• Attend meetings and participate in professional development activities to enhance .
