Job summary

Step Into Teaching is supporting a secondary school in Banbury by appointing an English Graduate Teaching Assistant. You will support delivery of English lessons, assist small groups, and help students reach their full potential. A 2:2 English degree is required, with excellent communication skills and a passion for helping pupils succeed.

This full-time position runs Monday to Friday at a Banbury school, offering weekly pay and opportunities for aspiring teachers to gain classroom experience.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a degree in English (Hons) and a 2:2 or higher.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to convey English concepts to pupils from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering English lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students needing help.
• Prepare and set up science resources and equipment for practical lessons.
• Monitor student progress and give feedback to teachers.
• Support classroom management and a positive learning environment.
• Assist with marking and contribute to lesson planning and resources.
