Job summary

Arup is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to start with a focus on learning the craft within a global advisory and design practice in Bristol, UK. You will shadow experienced engineers, assist in early project stages and develop your skills toward professional qualification.

The role emphasises delivering sustainable, economical structural solutions, growing technical proficiency, and integrating with multidisciplinary teams across the Bristol office.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Structural, General or Architectural Engineering, or Engineering Science, at 2.1 or above.
• Studying, or have studied, an ICE or IStructE accredited course.
• A passion for structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structural calculations, modelling, engineering analysis and hand calculations.
• Design structural engineering solutions that are economical and practical and minimize embodied carbon.
• Build computer and structural models to monitor building behaviour.
• Communicate through drawings, sketches, BIM, calculations, reports, emails and meetings.
• Work with project teams, taking and giving instructions to solve problems.
• Plan deadlines and take responsibility for quality and timely delivery of work.
