Job description

Graduate Structural Engineer - All Experience Levels

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Exeter for a Graduate Structural Engineer, whether you are starting your career or already have relevant industry experience. You will join a highly respected local practice with a strong share of the regional market. Its close-knit team of structural and civil engineers and technicians delivers projects ranging from small domestic commissions to high-profile, multi-million-pound mixed-use developments.

Applications are welcomed from recent graduates with a relevant civil or structural engineering degree, as well as graduate engineers who have gained experience in building structures through employment, placements or internships. You should be keen to develop your technical design skills and confident communicating with colleagues and project stakeholders. More experienced candidates will have opportunities to take greater ownership of design work and client interaction, while less experienced candidates will receive guidance and support from senior engineers.

Other projects include:
  • Challenging and bespoke residential projects
  • Multi-storey mixed use development
  • Underground car park and foundations
  • 7 storey luxury flats with complex solutions required for foundations

The successful candidate will contribute across the practice's core workload, including a £25 million waste-to-energy scheme in the South West. Reporting to a company director, you will work at a level appropriate to your experience, building responsibility as your technical knowledge and confidence grow. Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time-management skills are important.

This business has heavily invested in the right staff, software and working environment, an excellent indicator of a progressive local practice.
