Job summary

Academics in East Grinstead is seeking graduates in psychology, criminology or sociology to join a SEN/SEMH setting as a Special Needs Learning Support Assistant. You will work with teachers and specialist staff to support learning, behaviour and emotional development, providing 1:1 and small group support, and helping create a safe, structured environment in a nurturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Support emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement.
• Assist with personalised learning and behaviour strategies.
• Observe and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
• Provide personal care where required.
