Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd is recruiting graduates for an 18-month RF/Microwave Engineer programme based in Edinburgh or Newcastle. You will develop microwave/RF designs, use advanced simulation tools, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative avionics components.

The programme includes mentoring, coaching, and potential chartership support, with on-site learning three to four days a week and a starting salary of £34,000 plus a £1,000 welcome bonus and a £1,000 exit bonus upon completion.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:2 Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related discipline.
• Preferred degrees include Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Mathematics.
• Familiarity with CST/HFSS/ADS or similar tools is desirable; training will be provided.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage in development lifecycle aspects: requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, research and testing.
• Collaborate with systems, software, and mechanical engineers and interface with customers when needed.
• Develop microwave/RF designs up to 40GHz and prepare technical documentation.
