Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd in Luton offers an 18-month Graduate Microwave Engineer programme to develop you from graduate to professional engineer. You will work on real projects across RF/microwave design, collaborating with experienced engineers and contributing to the full development lifecycle in a security-sensitive environment.

The role covers design, modelling and testing at frequencies up to 40 GHz, with opportunities to work across multidisciplinary teams and flexible/hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:2 Bachelor's degree or integrated Master’s in a relevant STEM discipline.
• Interest in RF engineering, microwave systems, electromagnetics or high-frequency electronics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to learn from experienced engineers.
• Experience of simulation, modelling or laboratory-based testing through university projects or placements (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support development of high-performance RF and microwave technologies used in Electronic Warfare solutions.
• Designing and developing RF/microwave circuits, subsystems and components.
• Modelling, simulating and analysing microwave performance with industry tools.
• Conducting laboratory testing and measurements with specialist RF equipment.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate microwave solutions into products.
• Contributing to technical documentation and reviews.
