Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a SHEQ Coordinator in Glasgow to support rail projects across Scotland. You will work with the SHEQ Manager and project teams, providing site-based H&S support and administrative coordination to keep documentation and compliance up to date.

This entry-level opportunity lets you develop technical knowledge across live rail projects, combining site and office work with flexibility to travel to various sites as required.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• General understanding of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient IT skills with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Proactive attitude and teamwork.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
• Willingness to work outside standard hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements across rail projects.
• Assist with risk assessments, method statements, Work Package Plans and Construction Phase Plans.
• Maintain project H&S documentation, records and compliance trackers.
• Assist with site inspections and audits alongside experienced SHEQ professionals.
• Support incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions.
• Develop toolbox talks, safety briefings and workforce engagement materials.
• Maintain non-conformance records and follow up on actions.
• Assist with Integrated Management System and ISO standards upkeep.
• Coordinate audits and record findings with corrective actions.
• Collect evidence for client and industry accreditation portals.
• Support environmental reporting and sustainability initiatives.
• Liaise with project teams to ensure SHEQ requirements are met.
• Travel to sites as required.
