Job summary

Amcogiffen is seeking an experienced Site Manager / Senior Site Manager to lead rail station infrastructure projects across Scotland from Edinburgh to Fife. You will be embedded in a fast paced team, responsible for delivering multi-disciplinary civil works and rail related tasks with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

The role requires previous rail site management experience, PTS and SSSTS/SMSTS qualifications, and the ability to coordinate contractors, oversee daily records, and

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering projects or rail sector.
  • Proven ability to manage site operations, records and workforce.
  • Valid rail site qualifications (PTS and SSSTS/SMSTS) are required.

Responsibilities

  • Site set up and upkeep and daily management of site processes.
  • Supervision of workforce including subcontractors and direct hires.
  • Ordering materials and equipment; conduct site inductions.
  • Lead daily briefings, safety alerts and quality records.
  • Liaise with public authorities, local councils and rail clients.
  • Represent the company on site and maintain a professional image.

An outstanding opportunity for an experienced rail and civil engineering Site Manager or Senior Site Manager to join our team in Scotland and playing a key role in the delivery of a portfolio of rail station projects and associated civil engineering works.

Business Unit

A busy and fast paced project and maintenance environment involving in a range of multi-disciplinary civil engineering projects, working for a varied range of clients including Local Authorities, Network Rail and Environmental.

Projects can typically include civil engineering works and infrastructure projects such as:

Highways & Roads, underbridges, overbridges and footbridges, tunnels, flood alleviation & repairs, earthworks & embankments and rail platforms and station infrastructure etc.

The Role

This position will be embedded in the existing Operational team delivering a portfolio of rail station infrastructure projects located throughout Scotland.

As Site Manager, you will be directly responsible for the daily management of and ongoing delivery of site-based works around Scotland.

Day to day responsibilities include but will not be limited to:

  • Site set up and upkeep.
  • Day to day management of all site processes – including maintaining accurate records and submitting weekly records.
  • Supervision of workforce (subcontractors and directly employed)
  • Ordering of materials, equipment and small items of plant
  • Carry out site inductions for all site personnel and visitors.
  • Carry out daily white board briefings
  • Communicate Work Package Plans, Task Briefings, Tool Box Talks and Safety Alerts to workforce
  • Carry out routine checks and record information in accordance with company procedures
  • Liaising with public, local council officials, and key rail clients
  • Being the company site representative and ensuring a positive company image is portrayed at all times
  • Assisting the project team with change assessments and keeping site records up to date.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Site Manager having worked on civil engineering projects or elements of a multi-disciplinary project in the rail sector.

  • SSSTS / SMSTS
  • Experience as a Site Manager in a rail contracting environment.
  • Experience in rail working on civil engineering associated projects.
