Job summary

Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) in Peterborough is seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial support on a major potable water transfer project. The role offers hybrid working and hands-on experience across delivery and on-site teams.

You will assist in preparing robust estimates, monitor costs, and support procurement with guidance from senior QS. A motivated graduate with a 2:2 degree or higher in a related subject is welcome, with development toward professional

Qualifications

• A 2:2 degree or above in a related subject (engineering, management or cost discipline).
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive, detail-driven approach and a willingness to learn.
• Full UK driving licence (or working towards it).

Responsibilities

• Assist the team to ensure robust estimates are provided that align to scope and include risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with the Lead Quantity Surveyor, Procurement, Construction Manager and Project Manager to develop procurement strategy.
• Work closely with the site team, attending site regularly to manage allowances and outputs, provide robust challenge to achieve outperformance, and communicate change control.
• Assist the Quantity Surveyor to produce accurate live forecasting in line with the programme and the work breakdown/cost breakdown structure.
• Ensure actual costs are monitored and assessed against baseline, value of work done, affordability challenges and final outturn calculations.
• Maintain proper records for audits and cost assurance.
