Job summary

Anglian Water Services in Peterborough is seeking a motivated Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance. The hybrid role combines office work at Worldwide House with on-site collaboration on a major potable water transfer project serving millions across East Anglia.

You will support commercial activities for delivery management and site teams from day one, developing robust estimates, forecasting, and cost tracking while advancing your professional accreditation through

Qualifications

• A 2:2 degree or above in a related subject; engineering, management, cost discipline
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
• A proactive, detail-driven approach and a willingness to learn
• Full UK driving licence (or working towards it)

Responsibilities

• Assist the team to ensure robust estimates are provided that align to scope and make allowance for risks and opportunities including any necessary analysis, transfer of data to the procurement system and Cost Base
• Work closely with the Lead Quantity Surveyor, Procurement team, Construction Manager and Project Manager to develop and monitor procurement strategy
• Work closely with the site team, attending site regularly to ensure they are aware of and can manage the allowances and outputs, provide robust challenge to achieve outperformance, communicate change control and elevate when necessary
• Assist the Quantity Surveyor to produce accurate live forecasting, taking into account the programme and reporting in accordance with the respective work breakdown structure/ cost breakdown structure
• Ensure actual costs are monitored and assessed against baseline, value of work done, solution cost progress, affordability challenges and final outturn calculations
• Ensure that proper records are kept & maintained so financial information for audits and cost assurance is readily available
