Job summary

Workforce People and Data Ltd in Bristol area is recruiting a Graduate Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. This permanent, full-time role offers structured training, exposure to live construction projects and a clear path to progression.

You will assist with cost planning, tendering, measurements and reporting on costs, under supervision of experienced QS professionals; the role requires a BSc in Quantity Surveying and strong numerical/communication skills.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Competent with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• A genuine interest in construction and commercial project management.
• Willingness to learn and develop under guidance of experienced surveyors.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with cost planning, budgeting and project forecasting.
• Preparing tender enquiries and obtaining subcontractor quotations.
• Supporting subcontractor procurement and package comparisons.
• Measuring works and preparing bills of quantities.
• Assisting with valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
• Monitoring project costs and reporting on commercial performance.
• Recording and managing variations to the original scope of work.
• Attending project and site meetings when required.
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation.
