Job summary

Tilbury Douglas invites applications for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our Regional Building team. You’ll rotate across key areas, gain hands-on experience from day one, and work on education, health and defence projects to build commercial expertise.

You’ll learn cost management, contribute to budgets and reports, and develop towards RICS accreditation with mentoring and structured training in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (2:2 or above).
• Full UK driving licence or working towards by Feb 2027.
• Strong problem-solving and practical, logical thinking.
• Good written and verbal communication for diverse stakeholders.
• Collaborative mindset with willingness to learn and take responsibility.
• Previous placement or site experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions.
• Support procurement of subcontractors and suppliers for value.
• Track project costs, valuations and payments to keep on track.
• Assess and manage risks, opportunities and variations.
• Produce reports and documentation for client and project teams.
• Develop relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Develop skills in industry-standard systems and digital tools for commercial management.
