Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Glasgow is seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to provide project-level commercial support on live projects and tenders in the power sector. You will coordinate with project teams on cost, value and risk management.

Reporting through CVR and monthly valuations, you’ll help optimise cash flow, manage subcontractor accounts, and develop cost estimates. This role offers a path to professional accreditation and early responsibility within a global engineering firm.

Qualifications

• BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent; experience may substitute.
• Experience in Power Transmission & Distribution sector preferred.
• Familiarity with NEC3/NEC4 contract forms (Options A & C).

Responsibilities

• Conduct monthly internal reporting through CVR and internal commercial management procedures.
• Produce monthly client reports in accordance with contract and client procedures.
• Ensure cash flow is optimised through activity schedules, monthly valuations and subcontractor account control.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change events.
• Prepare and manage sub-contracts through to Final Account agreement.
