Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Birmingham seeks an experienced Estimating/Quantity Surveying professional to support project commercial management on live and tender opportunities in the power sector. You will apply NEC 3/4 (Options A & C) knowledge to subcontracting, cost control and change management, ensuring cash flow, early warnings and final accounts align with contract requirements.

The role requires strong numeracy, collaboration with delivery teams, and the ability to manage multiple projects

Qualifications

• BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent with substantial relevant experience.
• HND in Quantity Surveying with substantial relevant experience.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership (RICS or similar).
• Experience in Power Transmission & Distribution sector preferred.
• Excellent numeracy and understanding of NEC 3/4 contracts (A & C).
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly CVR reporting and commercial controls for projects.
• Manage cash flow through schedules, valuations and subcontractor accounts.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and change events.
• Prepare and manage sub-contracts and final accounts.
