Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial leadership across framework and project levels, focusing on cost and value reconciliation. You will administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts (A&C), develop subcontracts, and coordinate with project teams on cost, value and risk management.

The role requires 7+ years of relevant experience, strong CVR reporting, and ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Quantity Surveying with 7 years of relevant experience.
• HND or Foundation Degree with 8 years’ relevant experience accepted.
• Experience in Power Transmission & Distribution sector preferred.
• Familiarity with NEC3/NEC4 forms (Options A & C).
• Excellent computer literacy including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct monthly CVR reporting and internal commercial procedures.
• Report to client monthly per contract and procedures.
• Optimize cash flow with activity schedules and monthly valuations.
• Drive recovery of outstanding monies and resolve queries promptly.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, change events.
• Manage contract changes including CE process and baselines.
• Prepare cost estimates and subcontract enquiries for tenders and events.
• Ensure adherence to risk management and financial compliance.
• Record KPI data and maintain payment timings on projects.
• Prepare and manage sub-contracts through Final Account.
• Collaborate with project teams to meet business objectives.
• Support talent development and provide commercial guidance.
