Job summary

Bennett & Game are seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their specialist construction team in Lymington. You will assist with measurements, pricing, cost control and commercial documentation on high-end residential and commercial projects, with clear progression toward a Quantity Surveyor role.

Qualifications

• Must have some experience in a Quantity Surveying, commercial or construction environment.
• HNC, HND or degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline is advantageous.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident using Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.
• Good understanding of construction processes, cost control and commercial practices.
• Strong communication skills with site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop within a commercial role.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to regular travel between the office and project sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist with measuring and pricing works from drawings and specifications.
• Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities and interim valuations.
• Obtain subcontractor and supplier quotations and assist with tender comparisons.
• Monitor project costs against budgets and identify cost variances.
• Assist with subcontractor accounts, final accounts and applications for payment.
• Maintain accurate cost records and commercial documentation.
• Liaise with site teams, subcontractors and suppliers on commercial matters.
• Support the commercial team throughout the pre-construction and construction phases.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their commercial career within a small, collaborative team.
