Job summary

Real Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Trainee or Graduate Quantity Surveyor for our Poole, Dorset office. The role offers APC support and a clear path to MRICS status within a close-knit consultancy.

You will work alongside senior management, gaining experience and increasing responsibility in commercial and cost management, valuations and contract administration while progressing your career.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost management and budgeting is desirable.
• Ability to read drawings and prepare cost plans.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in commercial & cost management tasks.
• Prepare budget cost appraisals and cost plans.
• Take-offs, squaring, checking, and billing.
• Produce Bills of Quantity and preliminaries.
• Carry out valuations, assessments and financial reporting.
• Prepare, negotiate and agree final accounts.
• Support contract administration and dispute resolution where needed.
• Assist with project management and contract administration.
• Prepare and administer building contracts.
• Supervise tender returns and analyse submissions.
• Chair project meetings and record actions.
• Monitor site progress and quality inspections.

A close-knit Quantity Surveying Consultancy that offer excellent APC support is seeking a Trainee or Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Poole, Dorset.

The Trainee or Graduate Quantity Surveyor's Role

Working alongside the Senior Management team, the Trainee or Graduate Surveyor will play an integral role and will be gaining valuable experience and taking on increasing responsibility within a supportive and dynamic consultancy.

With excellent APC support on offer, the successful Trainee or Graduate Quantity Surveyor will be well positioned to achieve MRICS status and continue developing their career.

As a Trainee or Graduate Quantity Surveyor you will be involved in the following activities:

• Commercial & Cost Management
• Preparing budget cost appraisals and cost plans
• Taking off, squaring, checking, and billing
• Producing Bills of Quantity, including preliminaries
• Valuations, assessments, and financial reporting
• Preparing, negotiating, and agreeing final accounts
• Claims preparation and assessment, including loss and expense
• Supporting matters related to contract administration and, where required, disputes or litigation
• Project Management & Contract Administration
• Preparing and administering building contracts
• Supervising tender returns, analysing submissions, and producing tender reports
• Chairing and attending project meetings, including setting agendas and recording actions
• Site progress and quality inspections, and snagging activities
• Acting as Employer's Agent and/or Project Manager relevant to the form of contract
