Job summary

Student Times in Isle of Wight is seeking a Quantity Surveying professional on a permanent basis. You will assist with cost planning, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration across multiple projects while supporting project delivery with building surveyors and design colleagues.

The role requires a degree in Quantity Surveying or related field, strong numerical and commercial acumen, excellent communication, and organisational skills to manage workloads and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline with a willingness to progress to chartered status
• Good numerical, analytical and commercial awareness
• Strong communication skills with a positive, collaborative and client-focused approach
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage workload across multiple projects and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Assist with cost planning, estimating and budget preparation for construction and maintenance projects.
• Support the preparation of bills of quantities, schedules of work, tender documents and contract information.
• Assist with procurement processes, tender analysis and contractor appointments.
• Support contract administration, including valuations, variations, payment notices and cost reporting.
• Monitor project expenditure and help identify cost risks, savings and value-for-money opportunities.
• Contribute to final account preparation and project close-out activities.
• Work closely with building surveyors, project managers and design colleagues to support effective project delivery.
• Prepare clear reports, records and updates for clients and internal teams.
