Job summary

Oyster Recruitment Limited is seeking a Graduate Projects Engineer for a UK-based client near Southampton. You will gain hands-on experience across HVAC, Process Cooling and project engineering, from early planning through to installation and commissioning, working with customers, suppliers and site engineers.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Genuine interest in HVAC, Process Cooling or Project Engineering.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of HVAC and Process Cooling projects.
• Assist with quotations, costings, procurement and project documentation.
• Join site visits to understand project requirements.
• Coordinate equipment, materials and subcontractors to meet deadlines.
• Work with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Support project handovers, planning and progress updates.
• Identify technical issues, risks and required resources.
• Assist with project budgets, cost tracking and financial reporting.
• Support installation and commissioning activities on customer sites.
• Develop understanding of engineering design and project delivery.

Are you a recent Engineering graduate looking to build a career in project engineering?

Our client is looking for a Graduate Projects Engineer to join their team and gain hands-on experience across HVAC, Process Cooling and engineering projects. This is a structured development role, giving you the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers while building your technical, commercial and project management skills.

You'll be involved in projects from the early stages through to installation and commissioning, gaining exposure to customers, suppliers, subcontractors, sales teams and site engineers along the way.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting the planning and delivery of HVAC and Process Cooling projects
• Assisting with quotations, costings, procurement and project documentation
• Joining site visits to understand project requirements and gather technical information
• Coordinating equipment, materials and subcontractors to support project deadlines
• Working with customers, suppliers, Sales Engineers and internal teams
• Supporting project handovers, planning and progress updates
• Helping identify technical issues, project risks and required resources
• Assisting with project budgets, cost tracking and financial reporting
• Supporting installation and commissioning activities on customer sites
• Developing your understanding of engineering design, project delivery and commercial processes

What They're Looking For:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
• A genuine interest in HVAC, Process Cooling or Project Engineering
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
• Good attention to detail and a willingness to learn
• Confident using Microsoft Office; CAD experience would be beneficial
• Full UK driving licence
