Job summary

Leeds Primary School in Leeds is seeking a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils facing barriers to learning, working alongside experienced teachers and SENCOs.

This full-time, term-time role offers 32.5 hours per week and a salary of up to £540 per week. A 2:1 degree or above is encouraged, with degrees in Education or Psychology particularly welcomed as you gain valuable classroom experience.

Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers, SENCOs and fellow Teaching Assistants to implement effective strategies that help pupils overcome barriers to learning. You’ll provide targeted 1:1 and small‑group support, assist with classroom activities and help pupils develop both academically and socially.

The role offers an excellent opportunity to take the knowledge and skills you’ve developed through your degree and apply them in a real classroom environment. Whether you’re planning to pursue a PGCE, teaching career, educational psychology, speech and language therapy or another education‑based pathway, this experience will provide an invaluable foundation.
