Job summary

INDEDU is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a Leek primary school, to start in September 2026. This full-time, long-term role provides hands-on classroom experience, mentoring from teachers, and progression toward teacher training.

Salary is £500–£560 per week, with term-time hours in a supportive school environment. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate with a 2:1 degree or higher, with a passion for working with children and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across the curriculum.
  • Deliver targeted literacy, numeracy and subject-specific interventions to individuals and small groups.
  • Provide personalised 1:1 support for pupils who require additional guidance.
  • Support pupils with SEND, helping to remove barriers to learning and maximise progress.
  • Promote positive behaviour, confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and learning resources.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents to support outstanding outcomes.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment where every child can thrive.

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Leek (ST13) is looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

Working alongside experienced teachers and school leaders, you'll gain invaluable classroom experience, develop essential teaching skills, and build the confidence needed to progress into teacher training or a range of child-focused professions.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:
