Job summary

KPI Recruiting Ltd in Leek (ST13) is seeking a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting September 2026. You will gain classroom experience, work with experienced teachers and support literacy, numeracy and phonics initiatives.

The position offers Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, term-time only, with weekly pay and ongoing mentoring to progress toward teacher training routes such as PGCE or SCITT.

Qualifications

• A 2:1 degree or above (or be predicted to achieve one).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The right to work full-time in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons across the primary curriculum.
• Deliver targeted literacy, numeracy and phonics interventions to individuals and small groups.
• Provide personalised 1:1 support for pupils who require additional guidance.
• Support pupils with a range of learning needs, helping to remove barriers to learning and maximise progress.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, resilience and independence.
• Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and the creation of engaging learning resources.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents to support outstanding outcomes.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment where every child can thrive.
