Job summary

Coffey is seeking an Mechanical Engineer to support MEICA design for water and wastewater projects across UK sites. You will work with the Senior Mechanical Engineer and Design Manager to deliver robust mechanical components, drawings, and documentation that meet project requirements.

You will develop PFDs, P&IDs, equipment schedules, and calculations while collaborating with suppliers and customers. A strong background in mechanical engineering and CAD tooling is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

• A knowledge of Microsoft Office and 2D/3D CAD software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work on multiple assignments and prioritise conflicting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of preliminary and detailed design of water/wastewater plants to meet contract requirements.
• Contribute to mechanical design for water/wastewater delivery and plant equipment.
• Build relationships with supply chain partners and customers.
• Apply software to provide advice and achieve project objectives.
• Develop drawings of equipment and plant layouts as required.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs and equipment schedules.
• Support hydraulic, energy, and mechanical calculations in detailed design.
• Ensure health, safety, ethics and quality requirements are met.
• Understand specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
• Oversee project delivery with tracking, reporting and programme management.
• Assist FAT/SAT testing and inspection of installations on site.
• Develop commissioning documents and project records.
• Support pricing of MEICA equipment.
• Undertake project administrative duties (daily/weekly submissions).
