Job summary

AECOM Limited is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to support water treatment projects in Edinburgh and across the UK. The role covers all design stages for wastewater and water infrastructure, with opportunities to work in hybrid teams across multiple offices.

You will assist senior engineers in delivering mechanical designs, developing pump and hydraulic systems, and contributing to digital design tools and BIM workflows.

Qualifications

• MEng in Mechanical Engineering (2:1) preferred or equivalent.
• Interest in water/wastewater projects is desirable.
• Willing and able to work in a hybrid UK office environment.
• Basic computer skills (Word/Excel) and good report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Mechanical Engineering design across wastewater and water infrastructure projects.
• Develop pumping calculations, system schematics and equipment schedules.
• Prepare engineering specifications relating to hydraulics and pump systems.
• Collaborate with clients, designers and contractors to support project delivery.
• Produce lifting, access and maintenance plans and ensure timely reporting.
