Job summary

Cundall is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team in the UK, contributing to sustainable design for projects across education, healthcare, workplace, retail and data centres.

You will work with experienced engineers to develop mechanical building services designs, translating client needs into ventilation, cooling, heating and other systems, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and career progression toward chartership.

Qualifications

• On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree.
• Desirable if accredited with or on course to achieve a BEng/MEng degree level in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• Have a passion about innovative and sustainable mechanical engineering for the built environment.
• Possessing a desire for personal and professional development, you’ll have the proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Digital engineering is a big focus at Cundall, so ideally, you’ll have an understanding of Parametric ModellingTechniques(Grasshopper or Dynamo), or at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB).
• You are organised and methodical in your approach to managing your tasks and priorities, striving to meet deadlines.
• Collaborative in nature, you’ll be able to empathise with your clients’ needs and utilise excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• You will contribute to the design of mechanical building services for exciting UK and worldwide construction projects.
• Provide specialist consultancy input on projects across education, healthcare, workplace, retail and data centres.
• Define and translate clients’ needs into designs for buildings, facilities and services (ventilation, cooling and air conditioning, heating systems and more) with sustainability at the forefront.
• Over time you’ll assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop.
