Summary of the role

The Graduate Management Accountant will be responsible for providing financial insights and support to the sales and marketing teams of the business. This position is responsible for preparing financial reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes and assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts.

About the role:

  • Support budgeting and forecasting process
  • Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying areas of improvement
  • Multi-skill with other areas of the finance team to ensure we have cover for all roles

Key Accountabilities of the role – What I do (The below is not exhaustive)

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budgets and monthly forecasts
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and annual commercial reports for circulation to the leadership team
  • Work alongside the Financial Reporting team to ensure all commercial related audit queries are managed effectively during year end
  • Support the commercial sales teams, adding insight and challenge to the budgeting and forecasting assumptions
  • Monitor and report on budget performance, providing insights and recommendations for corrective action
  • Collaborate with the sales, marketing and operations teams to prepare detailed costings to ensure customer pricing is set correctly
  • Ensure sales pricing is updated in the system accurately and timely
  • Reconcile customer rebates
  • Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in commercial reporting and analysis

Skills, Knowledge & experience

Qualifications: Accounting & Finance degree. Ambition to work towards a recognised accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

Experience: No prior experience required

Skills: Highly numerate and literate. High level of attention to detail. Excellent Excel and IT skills. Uses analysis to make logical and reasoned assumptions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
