Job summary

Harlow College is seeking a Student Learning Coach to support learners with additional needs in the SEND section. The role focuses on enabling students to succeed through tailored learning support and coaching.

This term-time, permanent post offers a starting salary of £22,045.60 per annum and requires a proactive, compassionate approach to helping young adults access their courses. You will work closely with learners, carers, and staff to promote independence, safeguarding, and inclusive

Responsibilities

• To provide learning support to students to help them fulfil potential, e.g. clarifying content and differentiating materials.
• To provide personal and intimate care support to learners as identified in care plans, including hygiene and mobility, while promoting independence.
• Working closely with parents/carers, healthcare professionals, SEND staff, and teaching colleagues to ensure learners' care needs are met effectively and safely.
• To provide support during assessments, examinations, revision sessions, induction activities, educational visits, work experience placements, college visits, and employability activities.
• To take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable adults and young persons you are responsible for, or come into contact with.
• To keep accurate records of (learning) support and course documentation provided in line with college systems
