Job summary

Waterfield Primary School in Crawley is seeking a Learning Coach SEND Support to help children with SEND feel safe, confident and ready to learn.

This term-time role (32.5 hours per week, 8:30 to 15:30) involves delivering small group teaching, scaffolding and adapting tasks, supporting wellbeing and behaviour, and liaising with families.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children and those with additional needs.
• Good understanding of how children learn.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
• Patience and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Level 3 childcare qualification and First Aid certificate are desirable.

Job description

Waterfield Primary School, part of The Collegiate Trust, is looking for a Learning Coach SEND Support to help children with SEND and additional needs feel safe, confident and ready to learn.

In this term-time-only role (32.5 hours per week, 8:30 to 15:30), you'll work closely with the KS1 team, the SEND team and outside agencies. Day to day, that means delivering small group teaching, scaffolding and adapting tasks for individual pupils, supporting wellbeing, behaviour and personal care needs, working with families and carers, and helping supervise lunch and break times.

You'll need experience of working with young children and those with additional needs, a good understanding of how children learn, and GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above. Patience, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and strong teamwork are essential. A Level 3 childcare qualification and a First Aid certificate are desirable.
