Job summary

Milk Education is seeking graduates for Learning Support Assistant roles across North Durham. You will support students through one-to-one and small-group work, helping them engage in lessons and develop independence while upholding safeguarding policies.

The role offers training, personal development opportunities, and ongoing support as part of a community for educators who value consistency and long-term placements.

Qualifications

  • Must have graduated in the last 5 years from a transferable degree (psychology, coaching, education, counselling etc) (essential)
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children's learning
  • Patience and a calm approach to assisting others
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills
  • Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance
  • Inspire children to engage in lessons consistently
