Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to work in primary schools across the north of Durham. If you have a relevant degree and want to apply it in education, this is a great entry path.

Responsibilities include encouraging independence, providing one-to-one or small group support, and helping pupils engage with lessons. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 15:30pm with a daily rate of £107.71. Training and ongoing support are provided.

Qualifications

  • Must have graduated in the last 5 years from a transferable degree (psychology, coaching, education, counselling etc).
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children's learning.
  • Patience and a calm approach to assisting others.
  • Level 2/3 childcare qualification or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Recent experience in a school or education setting (preferred).

Graduate - Learning Support Assistant

We're looking for Graduates who have left University in the last 5 years to support Primary Schools across the north of Durham in Learning Support Assistant roles. Here, no specific qualifications are required - we just ask that your degree is relevant to working in education (coaching, support work, counselling, primary/secondary teaching etc) and that you have had employment that is referenceable in the last 2 years.

Learning Support Assistant - Main Responsibilities:
  • Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills
  • Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance
  • Inspire children to engage in lessons consistently
  • Maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality, following school policies
Learning Support Assistant - Requirements or Skills:
