Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Leeds primary schools. This role offers full-time or part-time hours, with a clear path toward teacher training and valuable classroom experience.

You will work with EYFS to KS2, assist with Maths and English, and support pupils with SEN. Strong communication and a proactive mindset are essential for success in this welcoming school community.

Qualifications

  • Recent university degree (any subject)
  • Based in or able to commute to Leeds

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 on a one-to-one, small-group and classroom basis
  • Work with class teachers to support learning, engagement and progress
  • Help deliver catch-up and intervention sessions (Maths and English)
  • Support pupils with SEN, SEMH and additional learning needs
  • Help manage behaviour and maintain a positive classroom environment
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and encourage confidence and independence
  • Support phonics, reading, writing and numeracy activities
  • Provide general classroom and pastoral support

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 on a one-to-one, small-group and classroom basis
  • Working alongside class teachers to support learning, engagement and progress
  • Helping deliver catch‑up and intervention sessions, particularly within Maths and English
  • Supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH and additional learning needs
  • Helping to manage behaviour and maintain a positive classroom environment
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging their confidence and independence
  • Supporting phonics, reading, writing and numeracy activities
  • Providing general classroom and pastoral support where required
Requirements or Skills
  • A recent university degree - all degree subjects considered
  • Based in or able to commute to Leeds
  • A genuine interest in working with children and young people
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • A proactive, adaptable and positive attitude
  • Confidence working with primary‑aged pupils
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential
  • A willingness to complete relevant CPD and training
