Academics is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Slough to recruit an Inclusion Teaching Assistant for September 2026. This long-term, full-time role offers an excellent pathway for graduates seeking careers in teaching, educational psychology, counselling, or SEN support.

You will deliver tailored 1:1 and small-group support, collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and build confidence in a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate with a genuine interest in education and child development.
  • Patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships with children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Calm and positive when supporting pupils with additional behavioural or emotional needs.
  • Considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, mental health, therapy, or another SEN-related profession.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, SEMH needs, and challenging behaviour.
  • Support small group interventions to improve learning, confidence and engagement.
  • Help pupils develop positive relationships, emotional regulation and independence.
  • Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO and other professionals to implement personalised support strategies.
  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
