Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join a well‑established consultancy. You will gain hands‑on experience across ground investigation and geoenvironmental projects throughout the UK, with a mix of site and office work designed to build technical expertise.

You will work under experienced engineers, receive structured graduate training and mentoring, and participate in a range of tasks from site investigations to reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree in geotechnical or related field is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to undertake site work and travel to project locations.
• Proactive approach to learning and professional development.

Responsibilities

• As Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, assist with specification, supervision and interpretation of ground investigations.
• Support delivery of projects across sectors and locations in the UK.
• Undertake site activities including boreholes and excavations.
• Carry out infiltration testing, ground gas monitoring and sampling.
• Assist with Phase 1–3 contamination assessments and reporting.
