Job summary

Card Geotechnics Ltd is seeking a Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer to join its UK-wide teams. You will gain hands-on experience across the full geo-environmental project lifecycle, from desk studies to on-site investigations and final reporting.

You'll work in a supportive, collaborative environment with structured mentoring, exposure to residential, commercial and infrastructure projects, and opportunities for rapid professional growth while developing core geo-environmental skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in geology, environmental science, geo-environmental engineering or similar.
• 0–3 years experience in geo-environmental or site investigation works.
• Willing to travel and stay away as needed.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Knowledge of Geo-environmental legislation and regulations.
• Understanding of SHEQ culture.

Responsibilities

• Support desk studies and site walkovers to gather information and identify potential environmental risks before site investigations commence.
• Assist with planning and delivery of intrusive site investigations to assess ground conditions and potential contamination.
• Collect, handle and manage soil, groundwater, surface water and ground gas samples following industry best practice.
• Coordinate with UKAS-accredited laboratories and assist with review of analytical results.
• Log soils and rock in accordance with British Standards and guidance.
• Interpret field and laboratory data to identify contamination risks and contribute to CSMs.
• Prepare factual and interpretative geo-environmental reports and recommendations.
• Apply current environmental legislation and guidance in daily work.
• Collaborate with clients, regulators, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
