Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to lead geotechnical projects across London, the South and South East of England. The role combines office and site-based responsibilities, with opportunities to mentor graduates and influence project outcomes.

You will own investigations, manage client relationships and deliver technical outputs while contributing to a growing, collaborative team. A degree in geotechnical disciplines and UK driving license are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience planning and supervising ground investigations.
• Strong geotechnical site investigations knowledge and interpretation.
• Experience producing geotechnical reports and recommendations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and manage ground investigations.
• Site-based supervision of investigations and construction activities.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, regulators and stakeholders.
• Carry out geotechnical assessments and provide foundation recommendations.
• Manage project delivery elements: budgets, programs and resources.
• Produce professional, accurate and technically competent reports.
• Coordinate with specialists and provide technical advice to clients.
• Support, mentor and develop graduate and junior engineers.
• Contribute to growth and development of the geotechnical team.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely and to high technical standards.
