Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer and Engineering Geologist in Chesterfield as part of the 2027 intake. The role combines geotechnical engineering and engineering geology across a range of projects, with desk studies, site investigations, and modelling using OpenGround and Leapfrog.

The position offers a two-year GDP, hybrid work options, and opportunities to grow towards ICE, IOM3 or The Geological Society qualifications while contributing to high-profile UK projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology with 2:1 or higher.
• MSc/MEng in related field is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD/Civil 3D desirable.

Responsibilities

• Desk studies, site inspections, rockface surveys and mapping.
• Design, planning and procurement of ground investigations.
• Supervision of ground investigation fieldwork.
• Geological interpretation and reports preparation.
• Analysis of geotechnical data and ground models; reporting.
• Use of OpenGround and Leapfrog for modelling.
