The Role:
An ambitious secondary school in East London is looking to appoint a Graduate Geography Learning Mentor to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Geography graduate who is passionate about education and keen to gain hands‑on classroom experience.
As a Graduate Geography Learning Mentor, you will work alongside the Geography department to support students with their learning, help develop subject confidence and encourage curiosity about the world around them. You will assist with lessons, support targeted interventions and provide guidance to students who may need additional help to reach their potential.
This role is particularly suited to graduates who are considering a future career in teaching and want to develop their classroom skills within a supportive secondary school setting.
The successful candidate will have:
A degree in Geography, Human Geography, Physical Geography, Environmental Geography or a related subject.
A strong interest in inspiring young people and supporting their academic progress.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with students effectively.
A positive, patient and encouraging approach.
The confidence to support students both independently and as part of a wider department.
Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
