Job summary

b3 jobs ltd is seeking a Graduate Food Technologist to join a specialist food technical consultancy with a UK client base. You will support across food safety, labeling, compliance, and supplier management.

This hybrid role is based in Oxfordshire. You will provide technical advisory to clients, review product labelling against UK legislation, support due diligence, and manage technical documentation and specifications.

Job description

This is a specialist food technical consultancy serving major wholesale groups, buying organisations, and food producers across the UK. They provide outsourced technical services including supplier due diligence, own-label NPD support, labelling compliance, and supplier approval.

About the Graduate Food Technologist

The purpose of your role will be to work across a varied client portfolio covering food safety, labelling, compliance, and supplier management.

Key tasks

• Providing technical advisory support to clients on food safety, legislation, and compliance.
• Supporting supplier due diligence assessments for wholesale and retail clients.
• Reviewing product labelling against UK legislation and relevant food law requirements, as well as also reviewing and managing product specifications and technical documentation.
• Contributing to product benchmarking and shelf-life assessment activity.

About You

• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a food or related industry role.
• Degree in food science, nutrition, or a related discipline preferred.
• A real willingness to learn, and a can-do attitude.
• Some exposure to food safety, labelling, or quality assurance - you don’t need to know everything yet!
• Confident communicator, able to advise clients clearly and produce well-structured written reports.
• Organised and reliable, able to prioritise and follow through on tasks.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

More details

The Graduate Food Technologist (hybrid) job is based in Oxfordshire and paying £28,000 - £30,000 according to your experience.

The package includes 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

A performance-based company bonus may be paid following a qualifying period of employment and is obviously subject to company performance.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, office hours, 4 days on site and 1 from home.
