Job summary

United Utilities invites applications for its Graduate Facilities Management Surveyor programme, a three-year scheme based in the North West. You will work across offices and sites, gaining hands-on experience in building operations, compliance, asset management and workspace planning.

You’ll develop through structured training, mentoring and recognised qualifications, progressing toward CIWFM or MRICS as you grow in the role.

Qualifications

• Must have achieved, or be on track to achieve, a 2:1 degree in Facilities Management, Building Surveying, Property Management, Construction Management, Real Estate, Estate Management or related discipline.
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle, travel between sites; must be obtained by May 2027.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across stakeholders.
• Proactive, enthusiastic learner; able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and IT skills; able to interrogate data and produce reports.
• Excellent organisational skills for managing property, asset and compliance information.
• Collaborative mindset and interest in FM, workplace environments and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Support Facilities Management Surveyors in managing and maintaining United Utilities' buildings and workplaces.
• Monitor building compliance and statutory obligations for safety and efficiency.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with contractors and suppliers.
• Produce reports and performance dashboards on FM activities, costs and energy performance.
• Support sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives across the portfolio.
• Assist with workplace improvement projects, space utilisation reviews and refurbishments.
• Use FM systems to maintain asset, maintenance and compliance records.
• Collaborate across the business to deliver high-quality FM services.
