Job description

Binnies, part of the RSK Group, is looking for a Graduate Environmental Consultant to work within our Consultancy group on UK Water Engineering projects.

Role overview

As a Graduate Environment Scientist, you will participate in our development programme and become a valued member of our experienced team at Binnies. We treat each Graduate Environmental Scientist as an individual and provide relevant training, development, and support to further your career. The role offers opportunities to develop environmental specialisms such as water or natural capital. We have an active Graduate Training Scheme and Environmental Community of Practice, supporting you through various levels of professional membership towards Chartership. We also provide field experience, mentoring, and training as needed.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist with Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) at all project stages, including SEA, feasibility, screening/scoping, and reporting.
  2. Support in writing documents for planning applications and environmental consents.
  3. Provide environmental support on projects such as flood risk management, water utility, rail, renewable energy, and large infrastructure.
  4. Support environmental fieldwork activities.
  5. Liaise with project teams, clients, stakeholders, and the public as required.
Candidate requirements
  1. An environmental-related degree.
  2. Membership or progress towards membership of IEMA or similar professional body.
  3. Understanding of EIA processes.
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  5. Interest in innovation, technology, and ecology.
  6. Valid UK driving license.
