Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Hertfordshire is seeking a Graduate Engineering Geologist to start a career in a growing consultancy. The role offers a hands-on mix of site and office work, giving you the chance to gain experience across ground investigations, geotechnical assessments and reporting.

You will work with experienced engineers and geologists on projects from initial investigation through to reporting, logging soils and rocks, site observations, and desk studies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology or Engineering Geology (or related subject)
• Interest in developing a career in geotechnical engineering
• Good communication and report-writing skills
• Willingness to work both on site and in the office

Responsibilities

• Assisting with ground investigations and site work
• Logging soil and rock to relevant standards
• Carrying out site observations and geotechnical testing
• Supporting desk studies and ground assessments
• Assisting with factual and interpretative reporting
• Reviewing and interpreting ground investigation data
• Liaising with contractors and clients
• Supporting senior engineers with project delivery
• Developing technical knowledge through training and mentoring
