Job summary

COWI is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join the Tunnels & Underground Structures team in the UK. You will contribute to climate-smart underground infrastructure, design tunnel projects, and develop toward Chartered Engineer status with a tailored professional development plan.

You will work on prestigious UK programmes, supported by mentors, and engage in site visits and client meetings as part of your ongoing professional development and chartership journey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc).
• Aspirations to become a Chartered Engineer.
• Some experience of working in an engineering environment (year in industry or summer placements).
• Demonstrable understanding and interest in engineering and a commitment to technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Producing engineering designs, assessments, and evaluations per project requirements.
• Performing analysis using computer modelling; creating, reading, and interpreting technical material.
• Translating concepts and solutions into presentations, reports, drawings, and infographics for clients and stakeholders.
• Contributing to dissemination of engineering good practice and in-house tools like the carbon calculation tool.
• Learning to identify potential health & safety, design, and commercial risks and mitigating them.
• Delivering work to a high technical standard with thorough self-checking.
• Attending site visits or client meetings.
