Clear Engineering Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Graduate Engineer to kick start a career in the building services and controls industry in Chelmsford, Essex.

You will train in Building Management Systems (BMS), HVAC and automation, with mentorship from experienced engineers, and travel between Essex and London to support installation, commissioning and maintenance.

Responsabilités

• Support installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of Building Management Systems.
• Learn to diagnose faults and troubleshoot BMS controllers and sensors.
• Assist with BMS software configuration, testing and commissioning.
• Develop understanding of HVAC systems including AHUs, pumps and valves.
• Support testing, optimisation and ongoing performance of building control systems.
• Gain hands-on experience with BMS platforms.
• Attend customer sites across Essex and London with experienced engineers.
• Assist with documentation and commissioning reports.

Are you a recent engineering graduate looking to kick start your career in a growing, technology-driven industry?

I'm working with an established building services and controls specialist looking to recruit a Graduate BMS Engineer to join its team, covering projects and sites across Essex and London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline to develop specialist skills in Building Management Systems (BMS).

You don't need previous BMS experience. You'll receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced engineers, gaining exposure to building controls, HVAC systems, automation and smart building technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Support experienced engineers with the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of Building Management Systems.
• Learn to diagnose faults and troubleshoot issues across BMS controllers, sensors, actuators and field devices.
• Assist with BMS software configuration, control panel testing and system commissioning.
• Develop an understanding of HVAC systems, including air handling units, pumps, valves and fan coil units.
• Support the testing, optimisation and ongoing performance of building control systems.
• Gain hands-on experience with industry-standard BMS platforms, potentially including Trend and other leading technologies.
• Attend customer sites across Essex and London, working alongside experienced engineers on a variety of projects.
• Assist with technical documentation, commissioning reports and maintenance records.
• Develop knowledge of control strategies, energy efficiency and smart building solutions.

Desired Experience

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• A genuine interest in building controls, automation, HVAC systems and engineering technology.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand technical concepts.
• Good communication skills and the confidence to work collaboratively with engineers and clients.
• A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and desire to develop a long-term engineering career.
• The ability to manage tasks effectively and work as part of a technical team.
• A full UK driving licence is desirable due to travel between sites across Essex and London.
