Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is hiring a Graduate BMS Pre-Sales Engineer to support the design and development of technical BMS solutions across sectors. You will gain hands-on experience in solution design, estimating, documentation and customer engagement while learning BMS technologies.

This remote or hybrid-based position includes approximately 20% travel and offers a structured graduate training and development programme, with opportunities for career progression within the BMS team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering or a related discipline, or expected to graduate soon.
• Strong interest in Building Management Systems, smart buildings and energy-efficient technologies.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Full UK driving licence or willingness to travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of BMS solutions to meet customer requirements and project specifications.
• Support senior engineers in preparing technical proposals, system architectures and solution documentation.
• Learn to interpret customer specifications, drawings and scopes of work.
• Assist in producing cost estimates and project quotations.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical information.
• Support the preparation of compliance documentation and technical submissions.
• Work with sales teams to develop competitive and innovative customer solutions.
• Participate in customer meetings, presentations and internal project reviews.
• Develop knowledge of UK building regulations, energy efficiency standards and BMS best practices.
• Build expertise in BMS technologies, controls strategies and system integration.

Graduate BMS Pre-Sales Engineer

What You Will Do

As a Graduate BMS Pre-Sales Engineer, you will join our Building Management Systems (BMS) team, supporting the design and development of technical solutions for customers across a variety of sectors. Working alongside experienced engineers and sales professionals, you will gain hands-on experience in solution design, estimating, technical documentation and customer engagement while developing a strong understanding of BMS technologies and applications.
