Job summary

Clear Engineering Recruitment Ltd is seeking a BMS Service Engineer to support customers across London/South East in commercial buildings. The role focuses on maintenance, fault diagnosis, and system optimisations to reduce energy use and improve reliability.

The successful candidate will carry out preventive and reactive visits, modify BMS software, and collaborate with engineering and account teams while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as a BMS Service Engineer or similar building controls engineering role.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient with major BMS platforms (Trend, Niagara, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Distech).
• Knowledge of HVAC plant, sensors, actuators and field devices.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service visits on BMS installations.
• Diagnose and resolve faults across BMS controllers, software, networks and field devices.
• Maintain and optimise BMS systems to improve reliability, performance and energy efficiency.
• Undertake BMS software modifications, adjustments and system upgrades where required.
• Support customers with technical issues and provide recommendations for system improvements.
• Identify opportunities for remedial works, upgrades and additional service requirements.
• Produce accurate service reports and maintain relevant technical documentation.
• Work closely with internal engineering, projects and account management teams.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.

• Experience carrying out planned maintenance and reactive service work.
• Ability to work independently, manage a workload and communicate effectively with customers.
• A customer-focused approach with strong technical problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
