Job summary

National Gas is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Project Engineer Graduate to join the St Fergus team. This 18‑month fixed‑term programme offers hands‑on project delivery experience in a live operational environment at the St Fergus Terminal, with strong professional development and security vetting.

You'll work across the full project lifecycle, from early planning to delivery, collaborating with engineers, contractors and operations teams to ensure safe and reliable gas infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, EC&I Engineering, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering or a closely related subject.
• Strong interest in engineering and infrastructure projects with good problem-solving mindset.
• Clear communication, teamwork and a proactive attitude to learn.
• Willingness to develop technical and professional skills on a graduate programme.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning and delivery of engineering projects.
• Assist with engineering design and technical reviews.
• Coordinate activities with contractors and delivery partners.
• Review technical information and project documentation.
• Monitor project progress and track key actions.
• Collaborate with operational teams and engineering specialists to support project delivery.
• Learn how projects are delivered safely within a complex environment.
