Job summary

Curtins is seeking a Graduate Design Engineer to join a supportive team of engineers, designers and consultants. You will design structures that form the backbone of the built environment and work with experienced engineers to deliver safe, sustainable solutions.

You’ll contribute to calculations, develop designs with steel, concrete, timber and masonry, and prepare reports and drawings. The programme includes mentoring, technical training and opportunities for professional registration.

Qualifications

• A degree (or predicted) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills.
• Interest in shaping sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with structural calculations and analysis.
• Developing designs using materials such as steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
• Producing technical reports, drawings and specifications.
• Supporting projects through design development and construction.
• Working with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Learning how structural engineering decisions influence project outcomes.
• Building understanding of project delivery and client requirements.
• Taking part in wider Curtins activities including STEM outreach and community projects.
