Job summary

Kier Group is recruiting a Graduate Electrical or Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Kier Design team based out of one of our offices in Manchester, London or Liverpool. The role is 40 hours per week with some flexibility, starting salary £31,000 per annum, permanent, full-time 2-year programme leading to an assistant level role with salary potential of circa £38k.

Starting in September 2027, you will enrol on Kier's Graduate Development Programme with technical training, rotations across

Qualifications

• Engineering Council accredited degree in electrical/building services or mechanical engineering.
• Genuine interest in pursuing a career in electrical or mechanical engineering and construction.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking with attention to detail.
• Enthusiasm for learning and ability to adapt based on feedback.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and checking of permanent design solutions.
• Assist with tender and bid-winning support and outline design schemes.
• Support development of alternative solutions and value engineering.
• Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections and attend client meetings.
• Identify technical risks and provide solutions to support scope, pricing, design, and construction.
